Main Entrance (Corner of Norton Way North and Common View
Exterior Doors – The exterior doors are heavy, double, manual push doors with a width of 170cm. There is level access from the front of the building to the doors.
The exterior doors lead into a porch area where there are two sets of heavy, double, manual pull doors, both with a width of 170cm which give level access to the Narthex.
Outside of the main entrance there are two separate flights of exterior steps. The flight to the left of the main entrance is of six steps, each 20cm in depth with a handrail on the right. These steps lead to the rear entrance of the church.
The flight of steps to the right of the main entrance is of six steps, each 20cm in depth with a handrail on the left. These steps lead to the car park.
Narthex – The Narthex leads to the main building of the church (The Nave). Access to the church from the Narthex is via two separate flights of steps, one to the left and one to the right.
Each flight has ten steps, each step has a depth of 15cm. Each flight of steps has a handrail on both sides.
Rear Entrance
The rear entrance to the church can be accessed via the exterior steps from the main entrance or via a sloped path on Norton Way North and then a sloped path from Norton Way North to the rear entrance. This path has a width restriction of 105cm.
The rear entrance can also be accessed via a sloped path from the car park.
The door to the rear entrance of the church is a heavy, single, manual pull door with a width of 100cm which leads to The Vestibule.
The Vestibule –
From the rear entrance of the church access to The Nave is via The Vestibule. This is via a set of heavy, manual pull doors with a width of 200cm.
The Nave –
Once entered The Nave has level access to all pews. There are no designated wheelchair spaces, although there is space towards the rear of The Nave which is suitable for wheelchairs
The Font is accessed via two steps with a depth of 15cm each.
The Choir Stalls are accessed via two separate staircases of 8 steps each, with each step having a depth of 15cm. One flight of steps has a handrail to the right, the other flight has a handrail to the left.
There is a hearing loop.
Braille documents are not available.
Large print documents are available upon request.
The Lady Chapel –
There is level access to The Lady Chapel from The Nave via a heavy single manual door of 85cm wide.
Toilet –
There is not an accessible toilet.
The toilet is located off of The Vestibule.
The toilet seat is 39cm high. There is no lateral transfer space and the handbasin is not accessible from the toilet seat.
There is a grab rail to the left of the toilet seat.
The toilet role is to the right of the toilet.
There is a soap dispenser and a paper towel dispenser by the handbasin.
A sanitary bin is provided.
There are no baby changing facilities.
Car Park –
The car park is on a slope and has sloped access to the church. There are two spaces reserved for drivers and passengers with disabilities near to the rear entrance of the church, although neither are accessible parking spaces as there is no lateral transfer space for wheelchairs.
